Ambulante Global

Ambulante Global is the result of eight years of organizing and producing Ambulante Film Festival in Mexico and it represents the first official attempt at consolidating, in the long run, the presence of Ambulante outside Mexico. Over the years, Ambulante has gained valuable experience by producing a film festival in a variety of geographic and social contexts. In an effort to reach new audiences, Ambulante has engaged various partners and collaborators (film companies, film industry professionals, cultural institutions, NGOs, embassies, universities, among others) into the organization of the festival. The festival has managed to establish itself as a prestigious and wide-reaching initiative. This is reflected on festival attendees’ feedback, invitations to participate in film festivals in other parts of the world, and awards, including the WOLA Human Rights Award 2011 for the promotion of documentary film as a tool for change. Hoping to cross borders and extend its network of collaborators, Ambulante will work with new local partners in different territories and create a productive context for viewing and discussing documentary film to increase the impact and visibility of non-fiction production.

Since 2007, Ambulante has presented selected programs in over 33 cities in 17 countries, in collaboration with many festivals, organizations, exhibition centers and institutions. Ambulante has traveled to Argentina, Australia, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Spain, the US, Guatemala, United Kingdom, Nicaragua, Norway, South Africa, Sweden, Tanzania, and Kosovo.
